Kaitlyn & Joshua

Balliamo!

I met Kaitlyn and Joshua by way of another sweet couple as they were visiting venues around Charlottesville in search of the perfect one for their wedding! They landed on Barboursville Vineyards, as it so eloquently captured their love of architectural history and Italian culture, and the 1804 Inn on property made for the perfect place to host their wedding party all weekend long. Kaitlyn’s precious mother worked tirelessly on all the decor and details leading up to her daughter’s wedding day.  With pops of sage, lavender, and rose gold, Kaitlyn and Joshua’s color scheme complemented the reds and yellows of the autumn leaves around the winery. Gourds and pumpkins, romantic candle-lit lanterns, baby's breath hung from shepherd hooks, and scripture from 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 lined their ceremony aisle as Kaitlyn’s father walked her towards her husband. After the outdoor ceremony at the ruins, a horse-drawn carriage rode the newlyweds around the property.  Dear friends and family enjoyed a lovely cocktail hour in the Octagon Cellar, and eventually, greeted Kaitlyn and Joshua at the start of dinner in the arcades.  A scrumptious four-course meal with wine pairing followed, and toasts given by siblings and best friends left everyone misty-eyed. Kaitlyn and Joshua surprised their guests with a steamy Argentinian tango they’d been working on for months, and once the party started,
the dance floor was on fire all night long!
Congratulations to the Swensons!
May your marriage be filled with many more steamy and slow dances for years to come!
